Macro Sea team members have backgrounds in real estate, development and investment, project finance, architecture, art, design, project and consulting management, and scheduling.
Executive Director and Founder
David is an active real estate developer who has worked on a diverse range of projects that vary widely in size, scope, and location. David is also the founder and Managing Partner of DBI, a firm specializing in real estate development, construction consulting and project management. Currently, David and Macro Sea are working on a redevelopment in the Brooklyn Navy Yard called New Lab, which will bring interdisciplinary high-tech fabrication and collaboration to a former shipbuilding facility. He is also spearheading the new development and restoration team for the Hotel Chelsea. David has been a guest lecturer, panelist, and participant for institutions such as Columbia University, RPI, Penn Design, Community Design Collaborative, the Atlantic Conference, the Venice Biennale, and MoMA.
Creative Director and General Counsel
Rebecca oversees logistics and legal issues on projects from the concept phase to realization, and researches every aspect of our ideas from aesthetics to zoning. Rebecca is currently managing the operations company for New Lab. In addition, she led the team that developed a proposal for the Governors Island Historic District RFP.
With an emphasis on the social potential of landscape, materiality, and detailing, Nicko leads creative and technical consultant teams and organizes fabrication, manufacturing and construction to create impactful objects and environments. Nicko currently heads the design team for Other Spaces as it rolls out the Brooklyn site and properties overseas.
Stephanie assists the design team in various aspects of project research and directs day-to-day Macro Sea operations including scheduling, logistics, and media. She is currently working with the design and fabrication teams for the Other Spaces interiors.
Designer - Project Manager
Liz’s interest in the design of built environment stems from an emphasis on creating meaningful narratives of social space. She is currently exploiting those interests as project designer for Other Spaces Brooklyn.
Designer - Project Manager
Drawing on experience working as an architect, graphic designer and web developer, Alexander takes pleasure in focusing on craft in both digital and physical space. Currently Alexander is building the brand experience for Other Spaces.
Special Project Coordinator
Allison manages day-to-day logistics, scheduling and research for Macro-Sea. Think of her as the bridge for smooth communication between people, places and things. Allison is currently working with the team on the coordination and development of Macro-Sea projects domestic and abroad.
Executive Vice President of Development
Ofer oversees acquisitions, investments, and development activities for Macro Sea, and is the Vice President of DBI, Macro Sea’s sister project management company. Ofer is responsible for developing financial models, performing portfolio analyses, and creating reporting systems. Ofer is currently leading the team to create an academic facility in Berlin, and oversees the financial components of all Macro Sea projects.
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew has extensive experience in complex real estate transactions locally, regionally, and nationally. Prior to joining Macro Sea, Andrew worked for ten years at Turner Construction Company, where he held the positions of Treasurer and Director of Real Estate Operations for its two wholly-owned real estate subsidiaries.
Samara works on new project development and strategic partnerships for Macro Sea and its affiliate, DBI. Samara’s most recent experience includes work on Macro Sea’s New Lab at the Brooklyn Navy Yard to create a high-tech manufacturing center. She is an important liason for any Macro Sea projects that interface with the City of New York and its various agencies.
